Types of lawn mowing parts
Lawnmower parts can be broadly categorised into two types – engine parts and cutting parts.
Engine parts include:
- Spark Plugs – these provide the spark to ignite the fuel and air mixture in the engine.
- Air Filters – these filter out any dust or debris from entering the engine and causing damage.
- Oil Filters – these filters remove any impurities in the oil, ensuring it's clean and well-lubricated.
- Fuel Filters – these filter out any debris or particles from the fuel, preventing blockages in the fuel lines.
- Carburettors - mix the fuel and air to create the combustion needed to power the engine.
Cutting parts include:
- Blades – these are responsible for cutting the grass. A sharp blade is essential for a clean and even cut.
- Belts – these drive the blades and must be in good condition to ensure that the blades rotate correctly.
- Wheels – these provide the necessary traction and manoeuvrability to navigate your lawn.
- Cables – these control the throttle and engage the blades. A damaged cable can cause problems with the operation of your lawnmower.
- Deck – this is the housing that encloses the cutting blades.
Regular maintenance and replacement of worn parts are essential to keep your lawnmower running smoothly and to extend its lifespan. Don't wait until something goes wrong – Contact us today to find out how we can help you keep your lawnmower in perfect running condition.
